Abstract

If we live for unconditional ontic certainty, we are mere hunted game. Humanity and philosophy. – This paper analyzes the profound gap between the ontic realm of everyday concern with transient beings and the ontological depth of human existence. Drawing on phenomenology and ancient Greek thought, the author examines concepts such as aletheia, lethe, aidos, and anamnesis, contrasting them with modern progressivism and the Cartesian subject-object dichotomy. The text emphasizes the necessity of returning to the essential past (Gewesenheit) and understanding the phenomenon of the withdrawal of concealment. Without this insight, individuals lose the capacity for authentic existence, become susceptible to manipulation, and reduce truth to mere technical information and temporary certainty. Conversely, genuine truth is viewed here as unconcealment, born from a connection to the origin (Ur-sprung) and demanding the holistic inner engagement of the human being.
