The use of Folklore Texts in Russian Language Textbooks for Primary and Secondary Schools as a Means of Developing Students‘ Communicative Competence

Th e article is devoted to the issue of folklore and folklore texts in
foreign language teaching and their potential for developing communicative
competence. It presents the results of the analysis of current textbooks for
teaching Russian language at primary and secondary schools. Th e article
evaluates the frequency with which folklore texts are off ered in individual
textbooks, what kind of texts they are, the purpose of their presentation and
the recommended way of working with these texts.
